I’m in Portland, Oregon all week, blogging from the American Ornithologists’ Union meeting. A thousand scientists and 800 presentations covering pretty much everything: from 200 years of Darwin’s finches to the fate of species in a warming future. Read about it at Cornell’s blog.
It’s not exactly all birds, all the time, I guess. The Gist has the story of the folks who ID birds found on the insides of pythons.
Totally OT, but you’re listed as copy editor at Inkling and I was just wondering what had happened to it?
Hi – It’s still shuffling along (latest story dated Aug 11). But the editors (Anne and Anna) are freelance writers and they’ve been concentrating on actually making a living lately. Anyone with a large inheritance who is looking to get into publishing, I’d encourage you to contact them: http://www.inklingmagazine.com/
Thanks for noticing…
The insides of PYTHONS? Not something I would normally rush to, but since it will be described with your inimitable style, I’m feeling bolder by the minute.
Portland has some gorgeous birds but I must say I would rather see them in their true natural beauty than on the inside of a python! Yuck. 🙂
